Physical Activity is a huge part of our lives here in Grange.
Daily, we aim for optimum time outdoors for all pupils, encouraging movement, activity, and with that, fun and friendships. We are now lucky enough to have our 'halla', the perfect indoor space for PE lessons when the weather is not on our side.
Weekly, our students travel the short distance across to the local swimming pool for dedicated swimming lessons with Swimtastic. This is an opportunity given to all children, from 1st class upwards.
In our school, we take part in many different sporting events around County Carlow, many of these aimed at our senior students. Over the past number of years, we have entered competitions in football, basketball, soccer, rugby, horse riding (Interschools), and athletics to name but a few.
There is a strong tradition of GAA within our community and every Autumn brings with it the Cumann na mBunscol competition. These games are often the highlight of our sporting calendar, with recent success driving our current teams year on year.
Active Schools Week is another highlight of the school year. This week incorporates Sports Day, alongside a number of 'try it out' activities such as dance, drumming, gymnastics, tai kwan doe etc. The list goes on!
We are so proud of what our school can offer in terms of sport and exercise.
